Following on from there Anycast product of years gone by, Sony today announced a new version of the Anycast called the Anycast Touch. The thing that has always struck is as being different about the Anycast is it’s all in one folding form factor, which has always made the product look very laptop-esque. The new Touch system features two screens, allowing users to split the different tasks of live production into two different tasks. Users will be able to interact with the new system by simply touching to select the video source. This new version supports full 1080P video with 10Bit processing. We think it will be very interesting to see how this new system competes with the NewTek TriCaster, which has long been dominant in the portable live production space. The Anycast Touch does not yet have a price, but is due to go on sale in September.
