Blackmagic Design today announced a new addition to their range of ATEM production switchers, 
the ATEM Production Studio 4K. Blackmagic claims that the Production Studio 4K is the world’s first 4K production switcher. The Production Studio 4K features a design aesthetic similar to that of Blackmagic’s Teranex converters, including buttons on the front panel of the 1U switcher for control of most aspects of controlling the switcher. It includes a total of 8 video inputs HDMI and SDI and 6 video outputs. The new ATEM is due to go on sale in April for $1995, and it looks clearly positioned more towards the live events market than for broadcast.
